The Digest Diet – Final Results!

Wow, our three weeks are up! The Digest Diet was an eye-opening experience for me, and it really changed my life!

Where I Was Before The Digest Diet

21 days ago I was stuck gaining and losing the same 3 pounds after several months doing Weight Watchers.

21 days ago I was eating quite a bit of artificial sweeteners, and had a daily habit of an ice cream bar after dinner. Granted, it was a Weight Watchers ice cream, but still…

21 days ago I weighed 5 pounds more than I did now! That’s right, I lost a total of 5 pounds on The Digest Diet. I would have been down SEVEN pounds, but “Aunt Flow” decided to show up today of all days, resulting in a couple of water retention pounds creeping back on.

But I will NOT let her burst my weight loss bubble! I know that in a couple of days I will be back down that 7 pounds, and I will continue to follow the principles in the Digest Diet plan to lose even more.

Where I Am NOW

Okay, here’s my before and after shots:

Yeah, okay so I don’t really look like that. Actually, because of my water retention I really look exactly the same as my before picture right now. :(

But my measurements tell a better story:

BEFORE:                        AFTER:

Weight: 210              205 (WAS 203 before “Time of Month”)

Waist: 39.25″           38.25″ (Down 1 inch!)

Hips: 45.25″              45″ (Down .25″!)

Thigh: 25.25″          25.25″ (Stayed the same)

Arms: 14.75″            14.5″ (Down 1/2 inch!)

So overall I lost 1.75″ in three weeks, which is pretty cool!

Where Do I Go From Here

I can honestly say that The Digest Diet has changed my life. It has given me tools to conquer my cravings and give my body healthy, whole foods. I love the meals, especially the shakes, and I plan on continuing to follow the plan.

In the book, Liz Vaccariello gives guidance for those of us who still have weight to lose. Since I have about 50 more pounds to get rid of (GASP), she suggests to continue cycling through the “Fade Away” and “Finish Strong” phases of the plan.

So, MY plan is to continue following the Digest Diet, while also tracking my meals and attending meetings with Weight Watchers. I think the combination is going to be my key to success!
