The Digest Diet – Weight Loss Overdrive!

Hi gang! Happy Sunday! Today marks the last day of The Digest Diet, Phase 2. I am IN LOVE with this phase! It has been easy to follow and I’m happy to report that I am down another 2 pounds as of this morning, making my weight loss total 6 pounds since I started The Digest Diet!

The Digest Diet Turkey Cheddar Roll Up

This is my favorite lunch from Phase 2 – Turkey, Cheddar and Spinach on a Flat Out bread. YUM!

Yesterday was especially thrilling for me. As you may know, I’ve been on Weight Watchers since May of this year. So yesterday at my meeting, I hit three major milestones!

  1. I got my 16-week charm
  2. I hit 25 pounds lost!
  3. I hit my 10% goal!

I was beyond thrilled, as you can imagine. As my leader talked about my journey, she asked me what helped me so far. I mentioned all the great, whole food that I’ve been eating on The Digest Diet for the past two weeks.

Then I relayed a message I heard from another Weight Watchers member. She was part of a “Success Stories” meeting that I attended in June, and she had lost a LOT of weight, I think about 70 pounds!

She said,

Imagine that your weight loss journey is equivalent to being a swimmer in the open ocean. The shore line is your goal weight. It could be very far away (you have a lot to lose), or maybe not so far. As you swim toward the shore, you feel strong. But then a storm rolls in. The water turns rough, and you find yourself stuck in the same place, or possibly pushed back a bit.

Now, what do you do in this situation? Do you say, “Oh well, guess I’ll stop swimming!” and allow yourself to dip below the water’s surface? No! You tread water, you wait for the storm to pass, and then you continue on your way.

So when you hit those “storms” in your weight loss journey, don’t give up, don’t drown! Just tread water: stay in control, don’t allow yourself to go back to where you were. The storm will eventually pass, and you’ll be back on your way to your goal.

How amazing is this?? Her story and message stuck with me since that day, and during August and the beginning of September, when I was batting around the same few pounds, I kept reminding myself to “tread water”. For some reason what she said literally hit the “on” switch in my brain, and I can honestly say it changed my life.

And then The Digest Diet came in, and it’s like someone threw me life raft! In the past two weeks I’ve learned how to eat well without feeling deprived. I now have several meals in my arsenal that are quick and easy to make, that taste good, and that give me results!

I’m sort of sad to be moving onto Phase 3 tomorrow. The Digest Diet shakes that I have grown to love are gone. But, I will do the third phase and see where I end up at the end. I’m just glad that I’m eating well and seeing the results that I want!

Have you ever heard a story or message that changed your life?

That looks super yummy and LOVE how healthy! Spinach is such a super food, I often feel like my body misses it if I don’t eat it often, so I am always looking for new ways to incorporate it:) Thank you
