The Digest Diet – If The Jeans Fit

the digest diet book

Well, we’re in the final days of the Digest Diet “Blog It Off” challenge. It’s been an eye-opening experience!

Who knew I would love Kale?

. . . or that I would grow to crave a Fade Away shake every day?

. . . or that I could kick my Weight Watchers Ice Cream Bar Every Night habit?

I am amazed at how easily I was able to adapt the Digest Diet principles, and how well my body responded to the changes I made.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I think a lot had to fall into place in my life to help things go as well as they have so far. I’ve been doing this “losing weight” thang for a looooong time. I know when I’m in the zone and when I’m not really into it. The Digest Diet happened to come along at the right time.

So, if you’re feeling discouraged right now, know that those times will pass. Tread that water until you feel you’ve got your strength back!

Now, to be honest with you all, I loved the Phase 2 part of the plan so much, I’m sort of still on it. I really like having one shake a day, so instead of having a “regular” meal for breakfast and lunch now as Phase 3 indicates, I’m still having a shake for one of those meals.

I’m also not a big fan of the carbs with dinner, so a couple of nights I’ve cut them out. That’s not to say I’m cutting out ALL carbs – just at night. I feel better when I don’t have the rice or pasta at night. (Wow, I never thought I’d say THOSE words!)

Overall I feel great, I love the food I’m eating, and I plan on continuing to use the principles of The Digest Diet past the challenge end date.

Because I put on a pair of jeans that have been sitting in my closet for over a year, price tags still attached, and they FIT.

Because I finally have the right amount of support to continue to my ultimate goal.

Because I finally believe in myself and think that I should treat my body well.

I can’t wait to give you all my final numbers and to take my “after” picture! Be sure to check back next Tuesday for the final post!

It’s all about what’s working for you, and customizing your healthy eating plan to work within your specific parameters. I know I do better eating fewer carbs in general, specifically grains (and I don’t care of they’re whole grains or not, although given the choice on a “must eat grains” item I’ll take the whole over the processed).

I like that you’re in the groove and you’re working the plan to suit you — like you, I’ve been doing this diet thing a llloooonnnnggg time, so I know how the feeling. Isn’t it awesome? :D
