Yes, I am so happy with the next phase of the Digest Diet that I put in the title of this post:
PHASE 2 IS AWESOME!
Why, you ask?
4 POUNDS, that’s why!
As you know, I lost 1 pound on Phase 1, which was nice, but not the results I expected.
Well, my body seems to like Phase 2 much better – I’ve lost 3 pounds since SATURDAY, for a total of 4 pounds in one week!
The Digest Diet – Phase 2
In the “Fade Away” phase, I now get to replace one of the shakes I was eating in Phase 1 with an actual meal. I also get 2 small snacks, and a dinner that is more than just soup.
Oh, and did I mention the recommended daily glass of red WINE? How nice is that?
Since starting Phase 2 on Friday, I’ve had the “Creamy Quinoa” for breakfast. The recipe makes 4 servings, and I really like it!
The quinoa is chewy, and tastes great with the chopped nuts.
I tend to like to eat the same thing day after day, so I’ve been very happy with having the quinoa every morning. I also like that I still have 1 shake a day, it makes taking care of lunch so much easier.
I’m not hungry at all on this phase, and I’m so happy to be eating some MEAT again! I had simple baked chicken last night, and it was soooo good. My body was craving protein!
I also made the The Digest Diet Tri-Color Frittata, which does not have meat but it has eggs, and tons of veggies. It is a nice, light meal.
Exercise has been missing from my days for the most part, mainly because I hate it! lol But I know I need to do more besides my dance classes on Monday nights. This week I’m going to focus on just getting out of my chair and moving around more.
Tell me – do you like to eat the same meals every day or do you try to mix it up?

Oh you already know how I am — I stick with the same meals until they bore me to tears, I wander around the scale a bit, then I find a new set of meals
It’s ultimately time-consuming, but it’s worked thus far. Mostly. There’s a downward trend, at least
Congrats on the 4 pounds — yay!!!!

Thanks! I like that, “wander around the scale a bit”…I do a bit of wandering myself!
When it comes to breakfast and lunch, I tend to eat the same thing everyday, but for dinner I like something new and different. But we do have our family favorites.

I would like to try new stuff for dinner, but my kids are creatures of habit like me! lol
I end up doing the same breakfast’s every day, but I try to change it up with fruit every now and then.

I think having the same breakfast is a good thing – makes it easy to eat healthy, especially when it’s a crazy morning!
Awesome job! Keep it up! I, too always eat the same breakfast and lunch everyday, and I am sure they are not the most healthy things I could eat! Time to switch it up and try some new things! I am very interested in seeing the results for this diet! Keep it up!

Congrats Jen! I’m so happy for you
I agree with you I like the same thing for breakfast but for lunch and dinner I need to mix it up.

Thank you, Patty!
I found your post via facebook/readers digest. I, too, like to eat the same thing for quite a while and I am doing well on the digest diet. The only thing I am not quite getting is the various snacks. What do you eat for snacks and do you allow yourself any sweets? Thanks!

My snacks were mostly a 1/2 ounce of nuts and a babybel light cheese. I also had 2 Ryvita bran crackers with 2 tsp. of peanut butter for snacks. I did allow for treats once in a while!
